A storyteller once told me that the truth of a moment is the accumulation of all stories from all the people experiencing that moment. The sharing of stories is one of the ways to cultivate understanding, connection, and community. But let’s go deeper. How much of ourselves are we willing to share? How deep a connection are we willing to offer our neighbor? Wouldn’t a community that functioned as one, through deep connection built upon mutual empathy, be a beautiful thing? This can’t happen without a certain degree of transparency. One step at a time, we say. There is prudence here, we say. Indeed, I would never advocate for a mandate or imposition of radical vulnerability, without the trust that must be its foundation. Rather can we at least agree on a willingness to open up? #MakeYourWorld
